THE BANDS:

LD 50 :

LD50 - which stands for Lethal Dose 50 (The dose of a toxicant needed to produce death in 50 percent
of the test population given the toxin) - aren't really newcomers in the scene since the band has been
existing for 5 years now. After a first tape in 1997 and a CD-R in 1998, both self produced, this trio from
Belgium is about to release his first CD The 21ST century Awakening on Nuit et Brouillard. Their deep
ambient, cosmic, sometimes hypnotic music will certainly be the perfect smooth introduction to the
festival...

HERBST 9 :

This unit from Leipzig delivers one of the finest ritual/dark ambient music existing : deep, evocative,
luminous, with a mystical feeling around...
Their two well-acclaimed and masterly works released on the LOKI Foundation label enabled them in
a few years time to be counted among the greatest and major acts nowadays.
They gave their first concert on March 23rd in Mannheim in front of an audience seduced by the perfect
combination between music and the beauty of the video projected. So if you were not there here's now the
chance to make up for lost time.

OBJEKT/URIAN :

Objekt/Urian is a german duo working with self made instruments and old electronics. Their music is a
great mixture of dark atmospheric soundscapes and power-electronics. Till now, they have released a first
tape and a first CD-R: Tonfragmente which is going to be be re-released on Zone de Confusion / Nuit et
Brouillard. You can be sure you will hear more from this band in the next future !
The reputation of their live performances -combining music, theatrical elements and installations- went
over the frontiers and we are happy to have them programmed in our festival. Don't miss what could be one
of the biggest surprise of this year !

SCHLOSS TEGAL :

No need to introduce the masters of dark ambient, back in France after a very long absence since their first,
and only gig which happened in Nevers in spring 1996... A memorable event for those who assisted the
set... Live material should be a mixture of new material from the forthcoming CD on Cold Spring and of the
masterpiece Black static Transmissions.

PPF :
This act, native from the same hometown as a legendary figure of French history did certainly also hear
some voices guiding them to liberate their country... they therefore perpetrated several live aggressions
which are as many sonorous attempts in different townships... We decided to allow them some more place
to express themselves, appointment is made ! You can expect orgies of analogue sounds, sample-voices
and distorded vocals in the old-school industrial way.

TAINT :

Be careful TAINT is coming to France !
Preceded by a sulphurous reputation, this American hailing from Waco/Texas will fly overseas for the first
time to give this unique concert out of the USA...
After numerous tapes, two LPs (including the recently out excellent Vice on Self Abuse) and several CDs on
Red Stream , Praxis Dr Bearmann and Freak Animal among others, TAINT is asserting itself as one of the
essential acts from the international power-noise scene. Some live collaborations are expected for this
venue, you have been warned...

STROM ec/GRUNT :

Live-collaboration between the two headliners of the new rising Finnish power-electronics/noise scene,
one of the most creative and innovating at the moment... With several releases on such prestigious labels
as Malignant rec. and Freak animal, Strom.ec rapidly gained an international reputation.
Grunt aka Mikko Aspa, is well known for his impressive discography, most of the stuff being released on his
own Freak animal label in limited editions. This first gig outside Scandinavia promises to be a memorable
event ; extreme in sound, visuals and attitude and without compromise of any kind.

OPERATION CLEANSWEEP :

This German project has remained quite mysterious for a long time till they decided recently to unveil while
giving their first concert on march 23rd 2002 in Mannheim. This propelled them into the international scene
since they just plaid in New-York and are going to perform in London.
With only one LP and one MLP, both released on the famous Tesco Organisation label in 1996 and 2001,
they are now considered as one of the spearheads of the German Power-electronics movement.
Their music cold, powerful, hypnotic including a lot of provocative and aggressive samples becomes live
denser and even more powerful, amplifying itself inexorably till the final paroxysm...
